“I Drink Wine” Title Card Design

I was contacted by Joe Talbot, director of Last Black Man in San Francisco (2019), to create unique typography for Adele’s new video. The video was inspired by the films of Old Hollywood such as Easy to Love (1953) and The Night of the Hunter (1955). I was contacted because of my movie posters and my ability to harken back to the feel of Old Hollywood films. For the main title card, I referenced old films with a hand-drawn arched script.

For the rest of the title cards, I selected a typeface that gave the unique feel of Old Hollywood while also feeling contemporary. Furthermore, I referenced old films when creating the layout of the text, framing the embroideries within the frame.
