CROPPED!

Cropped was a design competition I planned and hosted during Portland State’s Graphic Design showcase, Be Honest. The idea behind Cropped was to design as a community over zoom. Over three rounds, each participant was given the same assets, a theme, and one hour to create the best poster they could. We convened over zoom and participated in a light-hearted awards ceremony after each round.

DESIGN SPRINTS AND CREATING WITHOUT PRESSURE

My hope was to offer a sense of community and connection for creators while we can’t be together in real life. On a technical level, I wanted to examine the community’s approach to design sprints and watch the process of creation within constraints but without pressure.

EXPLORING THE WONDERS OF POSTER DESIGN, TOGETHER

Ultimately, it was everything I had hoped for. With minimal overhead, I was able to connect with designers of all skill levels, see the magic of design sprints, and further explore the wonders of poster design.
